9 times Malaika Arora aced fashion-forward wedding guest style

Malaika Arora has the kind of effortlessness with her demeanour that few others do. Whether she’s headed to an aerial yoga class or party central with her girl gang, it’s never without her signature inimitable flair. The same is true of the fitness entrepreneur and all-round aesthete’s appearances on the wedding circuit.

When it comes to traditional occasion wear, Arora aims for traffic-stopping intrigue. Case in point? The fiery red Amit Aggarwal pre-draped sari she wore with a bralette-style blouse featuring a plunging neckline for Armaan Jain’s wedding reception. For Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding reception, she stepped out in another stunning pre-draped look by the designer. But that’s not to say she doesn’t like the classic version of the nine-yard. Arora chose an ivory Rohit Bal sari with red blooms and a ruffle pleated pallu for her stylist Maneka Harisinghani's daytime nuptials. This breezy look was paired with a choker and statement maang tikka for maximum impact.

When it comes to lehengas, Arora likes them voluminous and high-shine. Take her pick for Akash and Shloka Ambani's post-wedding celebrations, for instance. The star went with a rose gold Seema Khan lehenga, accented with a polki and emerald choker for a pop of contrast, and skipped on earrings altogether. Other highlights in her wardrobe include the icy blue gota Anita Dongre lehenga she chose for Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover’s reception in 2016, an Anamika Khanna draped skirt and cape set from 2015, and the marsala Manish Malhotra anarkali worn in 2014, all of which stand out for their enduring charm.

Inspired to take a leaf out of Arora's style book for the next big celebration on your calendar? Scroll through to check out some of her best wedding-guest looks, including some daring picks, classic styles and nostalgic throwbacks.
